United Autosports return to Imola this week ahead of the second round of the 2022 European Le Mans Series and Le Mans Cup.

After a successful LMP3 debut for the #2 Ligier JS P320 trio of Bailey Voisin, Finn Gehrsitz and Josh Caygill, taking a well deserved second place at Paul Ricard, they will be looking to carry that momentum into Imola and remain within the top two positions of the LMP3 championship standings.

Qualifying on the front row of the grid at Paul Ricard, starting second, the #22 crew of Phil Hanson, Tom Gamble and Duncan Tappy will be aiming to replicate that qualifying performance and finish on the podium this time round in Imola.

Due to unforeseen business commitments, Jim McGuire can no longer race the #3 AERO Ligier JS P320 alongside Kay van Berlo and Andrew Bentley; the duo set to take to the Italian old-school circuit without a third co-driver this weekend.

The Le Mans Cup quartet return for their second round of the season, Wayne Boyd in the #23 LMP3 the only driver to have raced at the circuit with the team in the past, securing his first ever pole position back in 2016.

The #2 and #32 cars of father-son duo, Shaun and Max Lynn, and Daniel Schneider and Andy Meyrick will want to hit the ground running in the first session, before going on to claim some points in Saturday’s race to put them in contention for the championship.

Andres Latorre, driver and founder of the Colombian “Revere Coffee”, proudly fuelling the team this season alongside his co-driver Garnet Patterson in the #22, are excited at the chance to race at such an iconic, old-school circuit.

Zak Brown:

“Many ELMS and MLMC teams will not have competed at Imola, so the prospect is for very exciting racing. United were competing in ELMS for the first time back in 2016 and we scored our second consecutive ELMS LMP3 race win there. Our ELMS and MLMC drivers and team crews are looking forward to the challenge Italy will pose."

Richard Dean:

“Coming back to Imola, a track where we got pole position and the win in 2016, is something really exciting. We’ve never raced an LMP2 car around this circuit, but with the current quick pace we showed at Paul Ricard, I am hoping we can come away from Imola firmly in the championship fight. All of our drivers, across ELMS and MLMC are really looking forward to racing at such an old school, historic circuit so I’m looking forward to seeing how we can progress here."
