Daniel Goldburg and Tom Blomqvist, winners of Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen in LMP2 and GTP respectively, are teaming up in the #22 ORECA 07 for the 2025 Chevrolet Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, in an exciting one-off line up for the first IMSA LMP2 sprint race of the season.

“It’s great to have Tom [Blomqvist] back with the team,” says Richard Dean, United Autosports CEO. “He’s fast, reliable and a proven winner … the perfect driver to join Daniel [Goldburg] and the #22 crew as we go for another strong result in Canada to extend the #22’s championship lead.”

Goldburg - now on his second consecutive season with United Autosports USA in IMSA – has quickly established himself as an ultra-competitive Bronze in an exciting field. The Floridian-based driver took pole position at the Rolex 24 at Daytona in January 2025, secured his sixth top three Qualifying result at Watkins Glen in June 2025, and has qualified in the top five at every race in his IMSA WeatherTech history.

As of Watkins Glen, Goldburg is a two-time IMSA WeatherTech race winner (including the legendary Rolex 24 at Daytona), Sebring 12 podium placer, IMSA LMP2 championship leader and Michelin Endurance Cup championship leader (read more).

“It’s just this one race that Paul [di Resta] has the conflict with WEC,” says Goldburg. “I asked around for recommendations of the best driver I could get in the seat and Tom’s name kept coming up. We had a great test at Mosport, so I'm definitely looking forward to the race. Seeing Tom [Blomqvist] in the winners circle at Watkins was the icing on the cake ... we both have some momentum right now, so we’re hoping to keep that rolling!”

For 2022 IMSA Dpi champion and back-to-back Daytona race winner Tom Blomqvist, it marks a team reunion. The British driver – son of 1984 World Rally Champion Stig Blomqvist – contested the 2023 FIA World Endurance Championship with United Autosports, putting the #23 ORECA 07 on pole in Spa-Francorchamps and Bahrain, and celebrating a podium finish in Spa.

This summer, Blomqvist - whose full-season IMSA GTP challenger does not contest the Chevrolet Grand Prix, opening up his availability on July 13th - will take the place of Paul di Resta in the #22 ORECA 07, as di Resta fulfils his full-season WEC commitments with Peugeot Sport at round five of the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

“I’m grateful Daniel [Goldburg] and the United Autosports team have entrusted me to fill in for Paul [di Resta]” says Blomqvist. “We completed a successful test a few weeks back which was good for me to get acquainted again with the team and get some laps under my belt. We’re both coming off a victory last time out in Watkins Glen in our respective classes, so we want to carry that momentum through to Mosport!  I’m excited, I love these cars and I love this track, it couldn’t be a better combination.”
