United Autosports USA entered the 2026 Roar Before the Rolex 24 as defending LMP2 champions, showcasing dominant pace across the three-day test at the famous Daytona International Speedway.
Fielding two ORECA 07 chassis, United Autosports have established themselves within the IMSA paddock as strong contenders for the upcoming 64th running of the Rolex 24.
The #2 car driven by Phil Fayer, Ben Hanley, Mikkel Jensen, and Hunter McElrea, was the class's standout performer. The car led four of the seven primary practice sessions, with Hanley setting the fastest afternoon time on Day 1 (1:40.101) and Jensen topping the charts during the Saturday night practice with a 1:39.770. Jensen's flyer was particularly impressive, besting the nearest competitor by over 0.3 seconds.
In the #22 sister Oreca, returning champions Daniel Goldburg, Paul Di Resta, and Rasmus Lindh, joined by new addition Grégoire Saucy, focused on consistent race preparation. Goldburg, who won the 2025 Rolex 24 pole for the team, will return to the track for qualifying Thursday afternoon, aiming for back-to-back pole positions.
Max Gregory, Managing Director of United Autosports USA said “We’ve had a positive ROAR before the 24, with both cars showing great pace throughout the three day test. We had a few things we wanted to investigate and address between the ROAR and the official practice sessions, which we have done, and we are all feeling pretty positive for the week ahead. We have two great sets of drivers and an impressive team of people around us, so we are looking forward to it.”
Beyond the on-track performance, United Autosports USA turned heads in the paddock with the official launch of a striking new visual identity for the ROAR and Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona 2026. Moving away from more traditional finishes, the team unveiled a "bolder than ever" chrome blue and pearly white livery. This metallic aesthetic was designed specifically for the Rolex 24 to shine under the Florida sun and the intense floodlights of the speedway during the race.
The 64th Rolex 24 At Daytona takes place from Thursday, January 22, to Sunday, January 25, 2026. Serving as the 2026 season opener for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the event features a field of 61 cars competing across four classes: GTP, LMP2, GTD PRO, and GTD.
