The comeback is official – United Autosports will contest the 2025/26 Asian Le Mans Series, with a three-car entry confirmed across the LMP2 and GT3 categories (view the entry list here) and the first full car driver line-up revealed today.
Phil Fayer, Paul Di Resta and Ben Hanley will race the #6 United Autosports ORECA 07 in Sepang, Dubai and Abu Dhabi, with the talented trio going for outright victory on the team’s return to the growing endurance series.
Fayer – who has recently been announced for the 2026 IMSA season with United Autosports USA (read more) – made his IMSA WeatherTech LMP2 debut with the Anglo-American team this summer in the IMSA sprint races (Chevrolet Grand Prix and IMSA SportsCar Grand Prix), going on to secure two fourth place finishes with co-driver Ben Hanley.
This winter, Fayer will be reunited with Hanley for the ALMS, which kicks off at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia – together with 2025 24 Hours of Daytona race winner and former Formula 1 driver Paul Di Resta.
“I’m excited to be joining the Asian Le Mans Series with United Autosports,” says Fayer. “It’s a great complement to my IMSA program, giving me valuable seat time on a compressed schedule. I’m especially excited to partner with Paul Di Resta and Ben Hanley and learn from their experience as we push for results together this season.”
Le Mans and Daytona race winner Ben Hanley took the Asian Le Mans Series championship title in 2022, with two race wins and two further podiums in a dominant display across the four-race series.
On his debut with United Autosports back in 2023, the Brit stormed straight to the podium, taking second place in the FIA WEC Hours of Portimao. Since then, he has joined the two-time Le Mans winning team’s ELMS and IMSA race programmes, with highlights together including United Autosports USA’s first IMSA victory in the 2024 SportsCar Weekend at Road America.
“Really looking forward to getting going in the Asian le Mans Series,” says Hanley. “I raced it a few years ago but this time there’s the added bonus of going to Sepang which is one of my favourite tracks. Full focus on reclaiming the championship title!”
Di Resta – WEC Hypercar driver and two-time podium placer with Peugeot Sport - has a gleaming track record in the ALMS with United Autosports, winning the championship in 2018/19 with a 100% podium success rate and victory in the 4 Hours of Buriram.
In 2022, Di Resta and co-driver Josh Pierson took it to the next level, delivering pole position and victory in both races entered during the Abu Dhabi leg of the series – and now, after a two-season hiatus from the series, the Scottish driver is back in the ALMS paddock.
“I’m looking forward to Asia! Malaysia is a track I’ve always enjoyed,” says Di Resta. “It’s been a few years since I was there with Asian Le Mans … I think it was 2018/19. I’ll be partnering up with Phil, a great guy who is making his racing comeback, and Ben Hanley. It’s nice to be doing a championship over the winter months and the Asian grid is going from strength to strength, I think it’s going to be very competitive. Hopefully we can go there, have some fun, work closely with Phil and deliver results for the team. That’s what we’re there to do.”
“This line-up is very exciting, it has huge potential,” says Richard Dean, United Autosports CEO. “Phil is going from strength to strength, he is learning more with every lap during our ongoing testing programme - and Paul and Ben are two proven championship winners in the ALMS. They are vastly experienced, consistently fast, committed and reliable, and that is why they are such an established part of the United Autosports team across multiple championships. Together, I am looking forward to seeing what they can achieve.”
