This weekend, team bosses Zak Brown and Richard Dean brought home a win at the Estoril Classics, crossing the line P1 in class with the 1981 Porsche 935.

This iconic car, famous for winning the 24 Hours of Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring in the same year (1982), celebrated victory once again this weekend in the Classic Endurance Racing II GT2 class.

"There's a lot to like about Estoril ... I remember watching Senna win here", says Richard Dean. "The history of the sport, you're near to an amazing city with Lisbon, fantastic locations with the hotels and restaurants .. I don’t think there’s a better setting and it’s a great track to drive.”
"I remember this being Mika Hakkinen's first race with McLaren," says Zak Brown. "He outqualified Senna so that was probably one of my bigger memories ... and then of course Senna won his first race here in the wet. Being a big Senna McLaren fan, there's a lot of history here."

Sadly, the weekend wasn’t so rosy for the 1974 Ford Cologne Capri RS3100 which ended with a DNF due to a gearbox issue - however, with our first historic win of the season, it was a good weekend in Estoril.

The next event on the historic racing calendar is Velocity Invitational at Sonoma Raceway on November 10-12th 2023. Stay up to date with the team in the meantime on social media @unitedautosports
