United Autosports are in Barcelona for the opening round of the 2023 Michelin Le Mans Cup (MLMC), with two competitive LMP3 Ligier JS P320s on the grid. The same two-car, four-driver line-up delivered a double podium at the opening round of the 2021 MLMC in Barcelona (read more) – so hopes are high heading into a fresh new season.

In the #22 car, Gerry Kraut and Scott Andrews – returning to MLMC with United Autosports after a year out focussing on US racing - are looking to build on their P6 championship finish in 2021. Barcelona holds good memories for the pair, who took second place here in 2021 … going on to secure victory at the next round of the MLMC in Imola.

In the sister #23 car, John Schauerman and Wayne Boyd are racing their fourth consecutive MLMC season together. The co-drivers celebrated on the podium with Kraut and Andrews in 2021, bringing home third place in Barcelona. In 2022, they secured P2 in Imola.

The MLMC action starts today in Barcelona with a one-day prologue, followed by Qualifying on Friday 21st April and the first race of the season on Saturday 22nd April.

Gerry Kraut: “Having not raced a lot in 2022, I’m looking forward to getting back in the seat and re-learning the skills required for LMP3. It’s really exciting to be back with United Autosports and, of course, my co-driver Scott Andrews.”

Scott Andrews: “Super excited to be back with United Autosports for the 2023 Michelin Le Mans Cup, continuing my relationship with Gerry. In 2021 we had a great year, leading the championship for half the season! That’s credit to everyone on the team and Gerry for doing a great job … so hopefully, with the help of our new engineer, we can pick up where we left off.”

John Schauerman: “I am super excited to be returning to drive in the Le Mans Cup for United Autosports with my co-driver and good friend Wayne Boyd, who continues to help me tremendously in achieving my full potential on the track. We finished ninth in the 2022 championship … this year we’d like to be in the top three to five - we’ll see what we can do!”

Wayne Boyd: “Really looking forward to getting going here for round 1 at Barcelona. John and I finished in the top three here two years ago, so I know we have the package to do the job. I’m also really looking forward to driving on the new configuration.”
