United Autosports are in Belgium for the third round of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) - the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.

And, hot on the heels of success in Portimão just 10 days ago when we celebrated a record-breaking 1-2 finish, with just 0.684 seconds between the sister cars (the closest finish ever recorded in the WEC LMP2 class), we’re ready for another round of high-speed competition.

Spa has been a historically successful circuit for United in the WEC. In 2020, we secured pole position and victory with Phil Hanson, Filipe Albuquerque and Paul di Resta. The following year, in 2021, pole position and victory were ours again with Phil, Filipe and Fabio Scherer.

The 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps race is on Saturday 29th April at 12:45 CEST / 11:45 BST.

Watch the race live on FIA WEC TV and Eurosport, and stay up to date with the team on social @unitedautosports.

CAR #22

Phil Hanson: “Spa has been a really strong track for United Autosports and I ... it’s the track where we’ve recorded my most wins. We’re heading there with good momentum after two strong results so far this season, and I’m optimistic that we can get another one.”

Filipe Albuquerque: “So … it’s Spa time! Our first race of the season was in Sebring with a great second place result. The guys added a double podium in Portimão so we are killing it. United has an amazing, fast car as always, and out of the last six races we've done at Spa, we've won five. I'm super motivated with Phil and Fred, so bring on the fight! It’s never easy … especially with the weather always changing. But we’re ready."

Frederick Lubin: “After a strong finish in Portimão, I’m really excited to go racing in Spa. It should be a good weekend for the team, the car is usually strong at that circuit. So I think we should be in the fight for another good result, taking home more points for the championship. I can’t wait to see what we can do."

CAR #23

Tom Blomqvist: “I’ve got big boots to fill after that mega win in Portimão! Huge thanks to Olly, Josh and Giedo, who stood in for me and was fantastic. Spa is a circuit the team have done well at in the past so I’m expecting to fight for victory. That’s my goal, my target. It’s my first proper race for the team after not getting many laps in Sebring and so I’m hoping we can have a great result. Let’s get the job done.”

Josh Pierson: “Really looking forward to getting down to business this weekend in Spa. The #23 crew is more motivated than ever with our win in Portimao, and we are fully focussed on bringing home another strong result here. Olly, Tom and I are going to be pushing as hard as we can, and I know we have the right gears to get back on the top step. It’s just about making them turn.”

Oliver Jarvis: After a fantastic result in Portimão, it’s great to be back in the cars so quickly - and we've got Tom back too. Spa has always been a strong circuit for United Autosports so we go there knowing we should have a good car. But with such strong competition this year, we have to execute the race perfectly if we want to finish on the podium. The aim is the same as always … to score maximum points. We’re certainly going with the intention of a podium and, hopefully, fighting for the win.”
