IMSA VP Racing Sportscar Challenge Champion Bijoy Garg will make his European Le Mans Series (ELMS) debut in 2024, racing in the ultra-competitive LMP2 Pro class with 2023 vice-champions United Autosports.

Garg will race in the ELMS alongside his 2024 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship commitments with United Autosports (read more) – marking an exciting trans-Atlantic season of racing for the 21-year-old.

“I’m looking forward to racing in Europe,” says Garg, “new circuits, new challenges ... I really enjoyed driving the LMP2 at my test with United Autosports in Portimão, which is where we’ll be racing in the final of what I’m determined will be a successful European Le Mans Series season.”

Garg was crowned IMSA VP Racing Sportscar Challenge Champion in 2023, taking victory in eight of twelve races, and missing out on only one trip to the podium in his rookie sportscar-prototype season. The Indian-American, California-based racer also celebrated victory in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2023, taking a class win at Petit Le Mans (LMP3).

Now, Garg is racing in LMP2 with United Autosports across two high-profile championships, with the next round of the WeatherTech IMSA SportsCar Championship - the 2024 Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring - upcoming in March, and his first experience of European prototype racing in the six-round ELMS starting in April, joining the #23 ORECA 07 line-up of fellow IMSA co-driver Paul di Resta and 2023 Le Mans winner Fabio Scherer.

“The dual programme we have signed with Bijoy is really exciting,” says Richard Dean, United Autosports CEO. “He’s had such a strong rookie sportscar season in the USA, so we’re looking forward to seeing him develop in the LMP2 in both IMSA and ELMS. We came away with the title of European Le Mans Series LMP2 Pro vice-champions in 2023 and, with the addition of Bijoy to the team, I’m confident we can achieve even more success in 2024.”

The 2024 European Le Mans Series kicks off in Barcelona in April, with Mugello appearing as a new addition to the calendar in September and a night race to round off the season in Portimão. Stay up to date on social @unitedautosports.
