1987 LOLA T8700

Mario Andretti drove this car in the 1987 CART PPG Indy Car World Series, dominating the season opener at Long Beach to win from pole position.

It marked the first ever victory in Indy Car competition for the Ilmor Chevrolet Indy V8 engine.

Andretti also scored pole position at the 1987 Indianapolis 500 with this car and led 171 of the first 177 laps, retiring with only 23 laps to go.
