Tom Blomqvist is an endurance racing driver who won the 2022 IMSA Dpi Championship and back-to-back Rolex 24 at Daytona races (2022 & 2023). This year, he’s joining forces with United Autosports for the 2023 FIA World Endurance Championship.
The son of 1984 World Rally Champion Stig Blomqvist, racing was part of growing up for Tom. Aged 10, he started racing himself, karting in New Zealand where he spent his younger years. By the age of 15, he’d scooped eight karting championship titles and was looking for the next step.
At that point, Tom moved to Europe to rise through the ranks of single-seaters. One year later, he became the youngest ever Formula Renault UK champion (beating Lewis Hamilton’s previous record) with 12 podium finishes in 20 races.
Moving into Formula 3, Tom’s breakthrough season came in 2014 when he was crowned vice-champion of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship, finishing second behind Formula 1 driver, Esteban Ocon, and ahead of current Formula 1 World Champion, Max Verstappen.
In 2015, Tom moved from single seaters to DTM, making history once again as the youngest BMW driver to win a race in his first season – claiming victory at Oschersleben. He stayed with the team for three seasons before moving on to explore the world of Formula E (2017-2021).
Tom’s first FIA World Endurance Championship season was in 2021, coming home second in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and finishing the year as vice-champion in LMP2. The following year, he won the 2022 Rolex 24 at Daytona and the IMSA Dpi Championship – going onto make it a double victory at Daytona in 2023.
This season, Tom is racing in the FIA World Endurance Championship with United Autosports as well as returning to the IMSA paddock to defend his title.
Tom has shown amazing talent in many different categories, and I'm thrilled to have him onboard at United.

IMSA WEATHERTECH SPORTSCAR CHAMPIONSHIP
In 2022, Tom Blomqvist won IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Dpi Championship alongside fellow United driver Olly Jarvis. Tom kicked off his 2022 season with a win at the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona, going on to clinch the championship in the season finale at Petit Le Mans around the Road to Atlanta circuit. In 2023, Blomqvist started his next IMSA season with a bang, winning once again at the 24 Hours of Daytona.
United Autosports have proven themselves as one of the top teams in the world of endurance racing and I'm thrilled to be working with all of them.
FIA World Endurance Championship
Tom’s first full WEC season was in 2021, racing alongside Sean Gelael and Stoffel Vandoorne. The trio finished second in the championship and celebrated on the podium at the 2021 24 Hours of Le Mans, bringing home second in the LMP2 class. In 2023, Tom makes his return to the FIA World Endurance Championship with United Autosports, racing in the #23 car alongside Josh Pierson and Olly Jarvis.
When he’s not racing, Tom splits his time between Monaco and London. He enjoys playing padel, catching up with friends and (as his next project) he’s going to work on his golf swing.
