Frederick Lubin is a British racing driver, EuroFormula race winner and double Formula 3 podium finisher. In 2023, he is driving in the FIA World Endurance Championship (LMP2 class) for United Autosports.
23rd August 2004
Freddie Lubin grew up watching F1 and IndyCar, inspired by his dad’s passion for cars. His first serious foray into karting was when he was 13, racing in club level events - and from that day on, he knew he wanted to pursue a career in motorsport.
The young Brit entered the single-seater world shortly after, contesting his first Formula 4 season when he was 14. He kicked off the year with a hat trick of race points at Donington Park, won six Rookie Cup races throughout the season, and wrapped up with second place in the rookie rankings.
British Formula 3 was the next step for Freddie where – despite a period of ill health which caused him to miss six races in the middle of the 2021 season – he racked up a respectable list of accolades including fastest lap at Silverstone and two podiums at Oulton Park and Donington Park.
The following year, Freddie raced in the 2022 EuroFormula Open Championship – scooping eight podiums and a race win at the season finale in Barcelona.
Now, the British driver is making a move from single seaters to sportscars, taking part in his rookie endurance season in the FIA World Endurance Championship with United Autosports.
Car #22 has our previous WEC title winners in Phil and Filipe and an exciting young talent in Freddie.
EUROFORMULA OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP
In 2022, Frederick Lubin entered the EuroFormula Open Championship for the first time, contesting 26 races over nine events. He celebrated a double podium on his maiden weekend in Estoril with two second-place finishes – going on to take seven further podiums in Hungary, Imola, Monza and Barcelona. At the last event of the season in Barcelona, Freddie ended on a high with P3 in race two and victory in race three.
I can't wait to get started ... I think it's going to be an incredible year.
FIA World Endurance Championship
Following a successful test at the end of 2022 in Bahrain, Frederick Lubin signed with United Autosports for the 2023 FIA World Endurance Championship, driving the #22 ORECA 07 with teammates Phil Hanson and Filipe Albuquerque.
For Freddie, spare time away from the track is spent playing sports and keeping active – with golf and cycling taking the two top spots. He also enjoys listening to hip hop and playing the drums.
