FIA GT3 European Championship

United Autosports' Audi R8 LMS cars will predominantly run in the FIA GT3 Championship across Europe. However, their inaugural races will run in the opening rounds of the British GT Championship at Oulton Park, England. As an extra challenge of man and machine, United Autosports will also race in the Spa 24 hour race in Belgium.

The FIA GT3 Championship is a multi-marque Championship consisting of twelve one-hour races. Two drivers share one car and change over from one to the other in the pit lane during the race. This must happen at some time between 23 minutes and 37 minutes into the race.

Entry is reserved for non-professional drivers, with drivers divided into four categories: Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze. Platinum drivers who are classified as professional drivers may not take part. Gold category drivers may only compete with a Bronze category driver. This is in place to keep the 'pinnacle' drivers in higher categories.

A weekend consists of two one-hour free practice sessions and each driver must take part in one qualifying session. The lower-classified driver in each pairing takes part in the first session and starts the first race, with the higher classified driver taking part in the second session and starting the second race.

Racing against the Audis will be machinery such as Aston Martin DBRS9, Corvette Z06R GT3, Ferrari 430 Scuderia, Lamborghini Gallardo GT3, Porsche 997 GT3 Cup S and Ford GTs.

Spa's prestigious 24-hour race is held on one of the world's most famous circuits - Spa Francorchamps - since 1924. It's part of the FIA GT Championship, of which there is a GT3 class.

British GT follows virtually the same format as the FIA GT3 Championship, running at circuits across Britain.
